EP Foreign Affairs Committee: EU-Georgia visa free regime from 2016

The Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament has visited Georgia in the framework of its visit to two Association countries: Ukraine and Georgia. The visit aimed at the implementation of the Association Agreement, as well as of the Visa Liberalisation Action Plan in Georgia.
The Delegation welcomed Georgia's progress, and expressed their full support for the Visa Liberalisation process. They consider that the visa free regime should be granted in 2016, once the relevant criteria are fulfilled, a press release said.
The EP Delegation also stressed the continued importance of carrying out a swift and thorough reform of the judiciary and expressed concern about the recent developments with South Ossetia. They reaffirmed their support for the territorial integrity of Georgia. (EU Neighbourhood Info)
